The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)

Watched this in a too-hot cinema and i kept drifting off. The effects mostly hold up really well. Having recently reread the books i was a bit more critical of Jackson’s choices than i might otherwise have been. I think in terms of macro structure his instincts are good but at the level of individual scenes he errs more towards the high fantasy side of things rather than the pastoral and it comes off a bit naff.
